Choirs

Yorkville High School features 6 curricular choral ensembles with an enrollment of approximately 180 students.  All choirs are perfromance-based, with concerts occurring once per quarter.

All ensembles rehearse daily, and focus on the development of vocal technique, ensemble skills, musicianship, and music theory.  The choirs perform music from a variety of historical and stylistic periods, and in a variety of languages.

All students are encouraged to participate in choir, regardless of experience.

Auditions for ensemble placement typically happen early in the second semester.  Incoming Freshmen are enrolled into Freshman Men's/Women's Choirs and do not need to complete an audition.  Incoming Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors need to successfully complete the audition in order to enroll in Treble Choir and Varisty Choir.  A seperate audition is required for Madrigals.  Information can be found on the Madrigals page.
